Shotcrete
Shotcrete—pneumatically-placed concrete—is typically used in earth retention structures or the seismic retrofit of an existing structure. Drill Tech’s ACI-certified shotcrete technicians have experience placing shotcrete to ensure proper structural performance and retain knowledge of shotcrete’s composition and application process.
Construction Process
Shotcrete is a “wet-mix” process, meaning water is added before application in the drum of a ready-mix concrete truck. Our team then introduces air at the nozzle, which propels the shotcrete to its application surface. Drill Tech’s in-house engineers and superintendents have experience planning the placement of thousands of cubic yards of shotcrete a year and commonly assist in the development of shotcrete mix designs to ensure proper performance.
Benefits of Use
Shotcrete is completed faster and more economically than traditional cast-in-place concrete. More finish and stain options are also available, which leads to greater project flexibility and facing control.
Applicable Projects
Soil Nail Walls
Ground Anchor Walls
Slope & Landslide Stabilization
Rockfall
Mitigation
Tunneling
