Project Highlights
Frankline-Eschinger Pipeline Project
VMT was contracted to furnish and install Steel Casing and Carrier Pipe via 2-pass MTBM methods to tunnel underneath (1) an environmentally sensitive area, Stone Lake Creek, and (2) underneath UPRR railroad crossing at core road. The Stone Lake Creek crossing comprised of installing 180 ft of 78” casing and an interior 66” Carrier pipe, the UPRR/Core road crossing comprised of installing 344 LF of 78” pipe and an interior 60” carrier pipe. After completion of the tunnel drives the annular space between the tunnel casing and carrier pipe was backfilled with cellular concrete.
City of Lewiston Site C Intake Project
VMT was contracted to design and construct a Wet well shaft supported by secant piles and a buoyancy plug directly adjacent to the Clear Water River in Lewiston, ID. The secant pile shaft was 25’-0” ID and approximately 45’ in depth. From this wet well shaft VMT used single pass MTBM methods to install the 42” x 115 lf new intake pipe using 10ft long press-fit tri-lock pipe to tap the clear-water river for the future intake structure.
